Using the Foodbank
If you are in need of food then we are here to help. We use a friend/referral system to help us ensure that we are able to provide food to everyone who is in need.
Please contact one of our referrers before visiting the foodbank; they will be able explain how the referral system works and provide you with a voucher and any other advice that you may need in order to help you.
Here is a list of some of our referrers:
- Citizens Advice; available at the foodbank on Tuesday mornings
- Churches on Portland
- Dorset Council
- Christians Against Poverty
- Royal Manor Health Centre Reception
- The Lantern Trust
- REACH Drug and Alcohol Service
- Early Help Team Chesil Locality

Portland Pop-Up Larder
As an alternative to foodbank there is a pop-up larder on Portland at Easton Methodist Church, Easton Square, Portland, 9:30 to 11am every Wednesday.
If you go along and register then for £3 to £5 a week (depending on your family size) you can collect food to an appreciably higher value.
Fresh vegetables, fresh fruit, sometimes meat & fish, bottles, tins, packs…
Its aim to prevent food waste and is open to anyone.
